A resourceful man, inspired by his favorite book, J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit, decided to create a house straight from the pages of the novel. After reading it countless times, he was determined to bring his fantasy to life.

Once retired, he made it his mission to build a one-of-a-kind home on his property that closely resembled a hobbit’s house from the story. There was one challenge: anyone over 5’3″ (160 cm) would find it a bit cramped. But, as luck would have it, the 90-year-old owner wasn’t very tall himself, making the hobbit-style home a perfect fit for him.

Today, his unique house attracts visitors from around the world, and some even stay overnight to experience it firsthand.

The house’s door is an artistic masterpiece, designed to replicate the iconic circular door from the film adaptation of The Hobbit. Made from a mix of wood and stone, the craftsmanship extends throughout the home. Even the bathroom and other interior features are styled to mirror the hobbit aesthetic.

An open fireplace serves as the primary heat source, keeping the entire home warm and cozy. Inside and out, the house radiates a sense of elegance and comfort that leaves everyone who visits in awe. The proud owner says he couldn’t be happier living in his very own hobbit home.
