At one point, Brad Pitt was undoubtedly the most eligible bachelor on the planet. However, that’s no longer the case.
Fans have long been aware of his relationship with Ines de Ramon, and rumors suggest that the two recently planned a low-key getaway to mark his milestone 60th birthday.
Pitt, who celebrated his 60th on Monday, reportedly opted for a more subdued celebration, according to PEOPLE. The fact that he chose to spend this significant day with De Ramon highlights the importance of their relationship to him.
Ines de Ramon, the ex-wife of actor Paul Wesley, has been described as “Brad’s first serious relationship since his divorce” from Angelina Jolie, a source told PEOPLE last month.
It’s also reported that the Troy star has started referring to the 32-year-old as his girlfriend.
“He introduces [Ines] as his girlfriend,” a source told PEOPLE. “It’s great to see him in a happier place. Ines brings him so much joy.”
Pitt’s journey back to happiness hasn’t been without struggles. His highly publicized and tumultuous divorce from Angelina Jolie left lasting wounds that are still healing.
The celebrity power couple, famously dubbed “Brangelina” by the media, fell in love while working on Mr. & Mrs. Smith, sparking a romance that captured global attention. However, in 2016, Jolie filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. She also sought sole custody of their six children—Maddox, Pax, Shiloh, Zahara, Vivienne, and Knox.
An email from Jolie to Pitt, dated January 21, 2021, was later made public. In the message, she expressed, “with a heavy heart,” her intention to sell Miraval, their winery business, which she described as “centered around alcohol.” This may reference the infamous plane incident, where a reportedly intoxicated Pitt allegedly “choked” one of their children, struck another, and doused Jolie and the kids with alcohol.
As recently as October, Brad made headlines again for less-than-flattering reasons, when an old Instagram story surfaced. In it, his adopted son Pax referred to him as a “f****ing awful human being.”
When Pax was just sixteen, he allegedly told Pitt that he didn’t like him, adding that “the truth will come to light someday.”
In the post, Pax wrote, “You continue to show that you are a vile and despicable person,” alongside a picture of Pitt accepting his Best Supporting Actor Oscar.
“You have no care or compassion for your four youngest children, who are terrified around you,” Pax continued.
“Because you fail to understand the damage you’ve caused to my family, you will never comprehend it.”
“You’ve turned the lives of those closest to me into a living hell,” the teenager concluded. “You can tell the world whatever you want, but eventually, the truth will come out.”
