With an undeniable sense of confidence, Goldie Hawn never disappoints her fans with her timeless grace, even when faced with hurtful online comments.
The actress, who acknowledges that “there’s a certain reality” for aging stars in Hollywood, remains unfazed by insults and negative remarks from internet trolls.
Speaking on the topic of ageism in Hollywood, Hawn believes that women will always face this ongoing battle.
“Do you really think you’re going to challenge the system? When you turn 45, do you think Hollywood will still see you as a desirable, marketable star? No. There’s a specific world out there,” Hawn told Bazaar. “Does it make me angry? No. I don’t get angry easily. I’m not an extremist. Anger is pointless. It doesn’t help.”
While the star of The First Wives Club embraces her age, she can’t completely escape the criticism that often comes from social media.
“Should be in a nursing home.” In 2022, Hawn and her longtime partner Kurt Russell took a relaxing vacation to Greece, where they were photographed enjoying time by the sea. Hawn looked effortlessly chic in a black-and-white polka dot sundress over a black one-piece swimsuit, while Russell kept it casual in black-and-white board shorts.
The couple, looking as if they were in their honeymoon phase, enjoyed a boat ride off the coast of Skiathos, Greece, gliding through the clear blue waters of the Aegean Sea.
Despite her iconic status and the adoration of her partner Kurt Russell, Hawn, now 78, seemed unfazed by the online backlash she received.

Goldie Hawn is a powerhouse of a woman, leading a famous family that includes her children: actors Oliver Hudson (47), Kate Hudson (45), and Wyatt Russell (37).
Hawn’s relatable charm earned her major roles in films like Private Benjamin (1980), Overboard (1987) alongside Kurt Russell, her partner since 1983, and Steven Spielberg’s The Sugarland Express (1974).
Before meeting Russell, now 73, Hawn had been through two divorces. In a 2007 interview with Woman’s Day, she explained why she and Russell chose not to marry: “We’ve done just fine without it. I already feel committed, and isn’t that what marriage is all about?”
Kate Hudson, who earned a Golden Globe nomination for her role in Almost Famous, insists that her mom and Russell are the perfect match.
“Mom’s like a butterfly, always moving. Pa loves his home and family,” Hudson said. “But when they’re together, it’s so strong.”
Aging Gracefully Despite Criticism Hawn, known for her golden locks and infectious smile, has remained radiant through more than 50 years of acting and raising three children. Her outlook on aging? It’s a part of life. In an interview with People, she said, “Aging is natural. When you live with purpose, you see that life is full of transformations, and you go through them. You know what? It’s great to get older—it means you’re still alive!”
However, Hawn is no stranger to the ageism that persists in Hollywood and its fanbase. Despite her positivity, the internet has been unkind. Instead of celebrating her confidence and long-lasting love, online critics tore her down. One commenter harshly said, “They look like they belong in a retirement home.” Another chimed in, “She’s not attractive anymore.”
Yet, Hawn’s fans rushed to defend her and Russell, who recently played Mr. and Mrs. Claus together in The Christmas Chronicles. One supporter wrote, “They’re so cute together—that’s what real love looks like, growing older together.”
Kurt Russell had the sweetest words for his partner, recounting a recent moment when he looked at Hawn and said, “You’re unbelievable. It’s amazing how beautiful you still are.”
At a 2017 Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, where both actors received stars, Russell said to Hawn, “To you, I owe my wonderful life. Simply put, Goldie, I love you. That means more than all the stars in the sky or on this boulevard.”
