Jamie Lee Curtis and her husband, Christopher Guest, may be famous millionaires, but for the past three decades, they’ve chosen to stay grounded by living in the same beautiful home.
In December 2022, Curtis and Guest marked 38 years of marriage. Throughout that time, they’ve raised their two children, Annie and Ruby, in the same stunning house. Despite their Hollywood status, they’ve maintained a sense of consistency and stability for their family.
Jamie Lee Curtis is no stranger to fame, as the daughter of Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, two legendary Hollywood figures. She followed in their footsteps and built her own successful career with iconic films like Halloween and Freaky Friday. Her talent has earned her critical acclaim, including a Golden Globe nomination for her role in Anything But Love. Curtis grew up in Los Angeles and has deep roots in the city, first as a child with her famous parents and later as an adult.
Beyond acting, Curtis has also made a name for herself as an author. She gained recognition in the literary world, especially with her children’s books. Her first, When I Was Little: A Four-Year-Old’s Memoir of Her Youth, was published in 1993, marking the beginning of her writing career.
Curtis often draws inspiration from her own family for her books. Her second book, Tell Me Again About The Night I Was Born, published in 1996, was inspired by the adoption of her eldest daughter, Annie. She later wrote Is There Really a Human Race? in 2006, drawing inspiration from her youngest daughter, Ruby, whom they also adopted.
Curtis and Guest have shared a unique bond since marrying in 1984. She frequently expresses her gratitude for him and the life they’ve built together. In honor of their 36th anniversary, Curtis penned a heartfelt message: “My hand is in his. Both then and now. Our children, families, and friends have been the emotional links guiding us through both success and failure.”
Curtis recalls the moment she knew she would marry Guest, even before they had met. She spotted his photo in Rolling Stone magazine and confidently told her friend she would marry him. Despite never having met Guest at the time, Curtis followed her gut, contacted his agent, and eventually, the two crossed paths in person at a restaurant in West Hollywood.
Their relationship blossomed quickly. After their first date, they became inseparable. Guest, who was busy filming Saturday Night Live in New York, would fly back and forth to be with Curtis.
The couple purchased a 1920s Spanish Colonial Revival home in 1992. Curtis took pride in decorating the home, personally selecting each piece. Guest, however, was initially skeptical when house hunting but fell in love with the eucalyptus trees and terracotta roof tiles surrounding the property.
Today, their home reflects the blend of old and new, mirroring their life together. Curtis and Guest continue to take pride in the home they’ve built, filled with personal touches and memories of raising their children. Now that they are empty nesters, they cherish their time together even more.
