Join the #PolishedMan Movement: How One Painted Nail Is Sparking Global Change Against Child Abuse

Have you ever noticed men sporting a single painted fingernail? It’s not just a fashion statement—it’s a bold symbol of change!

Men from all walks of life are joining this trend, showcasing a variety of nail colors and unique designs. But behind the style lies a powerful message that ties them all together.

This movement, which originated in Australia, has grown into a global initiative, largely driven by dedicated men in the United States.

The story behind this movement is inspiring. It all started when Elliot Costello, working with Hagar International, met a young girl named Thea during a mission trip. Her story left a lasting impact on him.

Elliot and his team traveled to Cambodia to make a difference in the community. However, it was Thea, a little girl from the village, who ended up changing their lives.

As Elliot spent time with Thea, he noticed her love for nail polish. In a moment of bonding, Thea painted one of his nails. During their conversation, Thea opened up about her painful experience with sexual abuse. Deeply moved, Elliot made a promise: “I’ll keep this nail painted to remember you and your suffering.”

This encounter inspired the creation of the Polished Man project. Men from around the globe are encouraged to paint one fingernail for a week, symbolizing the one in five children who will experience sexual violence. This painted nail serves as a constant reminder of their commitment to raising awareness.

The Polished Man organization is dedicated to ending child sexual abuse. It calls on men to stand against all forms of violent behavior and language, both locally and worldwide. Alarmingly, 96% of such abuse is carried out by men, making them crucial in driving change.

Join the #PolishedMan movement today and become part of a meaningful change. It’s more than just nail polish; it’s a symbol of unity, empathy, and a commitment to protecting innocent children from harm.
