Princess Lilibet received a thoughtful birthday gift from her grandfather, King Charles, during her third birthday celebration, despite the ongoing family tensions. While the little princess only met her grandpa once during Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, he made sure to acknowledge her special day with a heartfelt gesture.
According to royal expert Tom Quinn, King Charles sent Princess Lilibet a special gift for her birthday, even though he was not part of the festivities. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle held a grand birthday party at their Montecito, California home, inviting many of their close friends. However, some friends declined due to the strained relations between Harry, Meghan, and the Royal Family.
Although King Charles was not invited to the celebration, he still made an effort to be part of his granddaughter’s special day. He sent Lilibet a present along with a warm, thoughtful message. Quinn shared, “King Charles made sure to send a present and a message because he didn’t want to completely overlook Lilibet’s birthday.”
Interestingly, the king has another gift in mind for Lilibet, but he is waiting until the family reconciles. “He wants to give Lilibet something special, but now isn’t the right time,” Quinn explained. “Last year, he gifted Prince George a personalized wooden swing, but for now, he’s holding off due to the family drama. Plus, Meghan has certain rules regarding acceptable gifts, so the king must proceed carefully.”
The birthday party, on the other hand, was a star-studded affair. Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry were among the notable guests, attending with their daughter, Daisy, who is just slightly older than Lilibet. Rather than shower Lilibet with material gifts, Harry and Meghan opted to throw an elaborate party to celebrate their daughter’s big day, inviting several high-profile neighbors and friends to join in the fun.
The guest list included celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Oprah Winfrey, all of whom live near the Sussexes in their California community. However, members of the Royal Family were noticeably absent from the party. Commenting on this, Quinn stated, “It’s quite surprising that none of the Royal Family was invited to Lilibet’s birthday celebration.”
