Tammy Slaton Celebrates 500-Pound Weight Loss Journey and Emotional Transformation
Tammy Slaton, known for her role in 1000-Lb. Sisters, recently shared a significant milestone in her weight loss journey. The reality star has lost an impressive 500 pounds since starting her transformation, inspiring countless fans along the way.
On August 17th, Tammy posted a heartwarming TikTok video set to Andra Day’s motivational song “Rise Up.” In the video, she stands with six other individuals, all of whom have been on similar weight loss journeys. As they enter the frame, the amount of weight each person lost is displayed on the screen, with a collective total of 2,078 pounds. These “weight loss warriors” support one another, holding hands and celebrating their success.
Tammy, 38, expressed her pride for her friends in the caption: “Truly amazing ladies, and I’m happy to call you all my friends. I’m so proud of each and every one of you. You’re not just beautiful on the inside, but you’re gorgeous on the outside too. Never forget that.”
Tammy first appeared on 1000-Lb. Sisters alongside her sister, Amy Slaton Halterman, when the show premiered in January 2020. Over the years, she has opened up about her health struggles and her determination to overcome them. After undergoing bariatric surgery in July 2022, followed by a 14-month stay at a weight loss rehab center, Tammy continues to document her journey both on television and social media. By December 2023, she had successfully lost a total of 440 pounds, bringing her weight down to 285 pounds.
In addition to physical changes, Tammy has shared the mental and emotional benefits of her weight loss. In a February TikTok post, she reflected on her progress: “Before rehab, I was really angry, sad, and even had thoughts of ending my life. But since then, I’ve noticed a lot of positive changes in myself. I treat my family and others better, and my overall outlook has improved. I smile so much more now.”
Tammy has also celebrated other life accomplishments along her journey. She joyfully recounted experiences like going on amusement park rides and taking a hot air balloon ride at Disney World, moments that were previously unimaginable for her. “I value life now,” she said. “Before, I hated everything about it.”
Her openness about her struggles and successes has deeply resonated with her fans. One supporter commented, “The change is incredible! It’s so moving to see how much you’ve grown. I may have even shed a tear or two.”
Beyond her weight loss, Tammy has remained active on social media, sharing glimpses of her life. In June, she posted a stylish photo of herself in a floral dress, and in the same month, she shared a group picture with her brother, Chris Combs, and YouTuber Chelcie Lynn. However, her journey has not been without hardship. In July, she mourned the loss of her husband, Caleb Willingham, sharing an emotional tribute on Instagram.
Tammy’s continued updates, from selfies to TikTok videos, reveal a woman who has not only transformed physically but also emotionally. With her latest posts and the encouragement of her weight loss doctor, Dr. Eric Smith, Tammy is truly “killing it.”
